Inverness Falls Resort

Located in the heart of the Whiteshell, our guests have easy access to all of the hiking trails in the Park.

Hiking Trails taking off from the resort:

The River Trail starts off just off the Chalets road.  It's a 2.5Km trail that takes you down along the river to a set of benches and then up hill.. at the top of the hill take a left on to the Amisk Trail, take a right to bring you back home.  Keep a look out for wildlife on the river.

The Amisk Hiking Trail can be acceded by an aproximate 11/2 km trail that takes off the block road, just 4 cottages past our office.  At the top of the ridge  you will come to a junction.  Down the hill to the beaver dam; streight ahead tothe Amisk Hiking Trial - a two and half hour hike with some lovely vantage points.  If you do not  want to come back through the forest you can join the Trans Canada Trail at the base of the Amisk trail and floow the block road back.

A little longer HIKE OR BIKE Ride – 2 circle trails

The Trans Canada Trail, teamed up with block roads and #307, makes for some nice outings.

1] Heads down the Trans Canada Trail from the stop sign, parallel to the paved road, until you turn left onto the old Cabin Lake Road.

bike and hike1km along the trail you will come to a path leading to the right. This trail has a magical feel as it heads through a Red Pine Plantation started 35 years ago. Early spring you can find Crocuses near the Warming Hut (3/4km). From the Warming Hut, a second loop heads along a rock ridge thick with blueberry in season.

Walk or bike “half way tired”; turn around to enjoy the trail from a totally new angle.

For a Longer Bike Rides keep going down this trail past the warming hut to gravel road, right for ½ mile to #307. Right on #307 to our block road; turn right again and come on home.

This circle trip approx. 6.75km

2] Head down the Trans Canada Trail that follows the block road past the Chalet road to almost the end. Follow the Trans Canada Trail signs into the forest to #307 (paved highway). Turn left for approximately 1km to our block road; and then come on home. Approx. 6.5km

Trans Canada Trail from Inverness Falls Resort to Cabin Lake

Trans canada trail from Inverness to Cabin

The Trans Canada Trail goes right by our door on its way to Cabin Lake and then on up through the park.

From the stop sign you head down paralleling the paved road for a bit until it veers onto the old Cabin Lake Road (first constructed by the lumber companies when Logging was done in this area) which heads back country for 9.3 Km to Cabin Lake.

This trail is bike-able to the Bridge at the Rennie River 4.7 Km from the resort. This make for a nice hike or bike destination for a picnic.

The 4.6km from the bridge to Cabin Lake is “rustic” hiking; not suitable for biking. Cabin Lake is a beautiful lake; with good Walleye fishing.
