Our Story: A Family Tradition Since 1979

Inverness Falls Resort is more than a business to us—it’s our home. We bought the Resort in 1979 and have spent over four decades falling in love with this land every single day. We raised our daughter here, and she raised her daughter here, making three generations of Whiteshell fans dedicated to sharing this special place with you.

Whether you are here for a long-awaited family vacation, a weekend of hiking with friends, or a romantic escape to reconnect, we believe there is no better spot to soothe the mind, body, and soul than right here in the heart of Whiteshell Provincial Park.

Located on the beautiful shores of Brereton Lake, our Resort transforms with the seasons to offer a spectacular experience no matter when you visit.

Summer Fun

When the weather is warm, our guests enjoy:

The Waterfront: A safe, sandy beach and a picturesque stream that meanders through the resort grounds. The Resort office features a sitting deck along the water and docks that guests frequently use for fishing.
Explore for Free: Guests have complimentary use of canoes, row boats, pedal boats, kayaks, and mountain bikes.
On the Trails: 14 kms of hiking trails, many of which can also be biked, wind through the rugged and beautiful Canadian Shield. The Trans Canada Trail also runs right by the Resort.
Fishing: Cast for Walleye, Northern Pike, Perch, Black Crappie, and Bass right here on Brereton Lake. For a more secluded experience, a short paddle and portage leads you to Mud Turtle Lake, known for its exceptional Northern Pike and Bass. Beyond the resort, you are within a half-hour drive of dozens of the Whiteshell’s premier fishing lakes.

Winter Magic

When the snow falls, the Whiteshell turns into a quiet wonderland for:

Active Days: Cross-country skiing, hiking, and snowshoeing (we have snowshoes you can borrow!).
The Great Catch: Exciting ice fishing on the frozen lake.
Snowmobiling: Access to over 300 km of groomed snowmobile trails.

A Pet Welcome Resort

We believe pets are family too! We are proud to be a pet-welcome resort, with specific units designated for your furry family members. Choose from Lakeview Cabin 6 with its private indoor hot tub or Lakeview Cabin 7 with an outdoor hot tub; both units comfortably welcome one dog. For larger groups, our Chalets offer flexible options: Chalet 10 accommodates one dog, while Chalet 9 can accommodate two dogs from the same household.
